Pertronic Sounder Base

The Pertronic Sounder Base (PSBAS2220) is an analogue addressable plug-in detector base with built-in sounder. The PSBAS2220 generates a tone when the detector is in alarm, or when directly activated by a bell circuit.

The PSBAS2220 communicates with any Pertronic analogue addressable fire alarm control panel via the AA loop. The base connections connect the sounder base to the analogue addressable loop, and internally to the LED drive output of the analogue addressable detector.

When the detector is in the alarm state, the sounder base generates NZS 4512:2021 Appendix G evacuation or alert signals, depending on the position of switch S1. (Switch S1 is accessible only when the unit is removed from its mounting base.)

The unit may also be powered from a supervised bell or sounder circuit via the SNDR IN terminals. If the bell circuit is activated, the evacuation signal will be generated, irrespective of the detector status.

Features

  • Configurable NZS 4512:2021 Appendix G sound patterns when detector active:
    • Switch S1 DOWN: Evacuation tone
    • Switch S1 UP: Alert signal
  • Sounds evacuation signal when SNDR IN activated
  • Configurable to generate an alert signal acceptable to NZS 4512:1997 by giving an evacuation tone sweep every 15.5 seconds
  • 95 dBA maximum sound pressure level

Note

When switch S1 is UP, this product generates the NZS 4512 alert signal when the detector is in alarm. In this configuration, the product is designated PSBAS2220-AT.
