Bupa is a diverse health and care group, who have 48 care homes and 34 retirement villages across NZ.
Pertronic has supplied Pertronic F220 analogue addressable fire detection systems for the new aged-care facilities currently under construction in Hamilton and Palmerston North. An F220 system has also recently been installed at Bupa’s Liston Heights facility in Taupo.
The aged care provider was pleased with the F220’s presentation of concise information and precise location details. The user-friendly screens and auto-scrolling alarm view make it quick and easy to assess alarm events.
The F220 is great for staff who move between different facilities. Its 7-inch full-colour LCD display is common to all panels and remote displays in the F220 system. The Bupa village and care home team use these displays to reset localised non-brigade calling smoke detector alarms from remote locations, minimising any unnecessary disruption to residents.
As part of the Taupo upgrade, A Pertronic FireMap® graphics workstation has also been installed at Bupa’s support office in Newmarket, Auckland. FireMap will primarily be used to instantly highlight an alarm event at any of the connected care homes and villages to central facilities management, allowing for a faster and more coordinated response. It will also display any defects or abnormal events on a site’s fire alarm installation. In addition, FireMap can report on analogue smoke detector contamination levels, again allowing for improved management of maintenance.
We are very pleased that Bupa has chosen Pertronic fire alarm equipment and FireMap for its care homes and villages.
